Located in Colombia, the residencies expose students to the thinking of international artists, while the community creates a backbone of social continuity. In turn, members of the local community participate in and benefit from the activities of the school and residency.

During my time at ArteSumapaz I developed a zine to share with artists about how the space runs and how it encourages artists to talk and share their practice with one another.

I also developed a series of collages, text, embroidery and illustrations. This body of work explores, queer bodies, masculinity and the deconstruction of toxic art history texts.

The one month residency resulted in a group exhibition with the 15 Artists who attended that month and members from the local community attending.
